Board Director
Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) - BC
Summer 2020 - Present
CPAWS is Canada’s only nationwide charity dedicated solely to the protection of public land, ocean, freshwater and ensuring that parks are managed to protect the nature within them. Voted in for a two-year term at the September AGM, I work on the board in a governance capacity to oversee conservation and wilderness protection strategies by leveraging my communications, policy, and advocacy experience. In the past year, I have worked on a governance handbook, board recruitment, and strategic planning.
Junior Economist, Policy Analyst
Western Economic Diversification, Government of Canada
Fall 2019 & Summer 2020
In 2019, with a focus on the Clean Tech/ Clean Energy portfolio, I wrote policy briefings and research packages for the Assistant Deputy Minister on the role of BC's clean energy sector in diversifying the Pacific Region's economy and strengthening long term economic growth for Canada. One briefing was a rebuttal to BC’s Chief Economist Jock Finlayson’s views on the clean energy transition and became critically acclaimed by the Assistant Deputy Minister.
In 2020, I analyzed the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects on BC’s main industries and SMEs by writing and coordinating 37 reports to the Minister’s Office and the Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Department. As each weekly report was intergovernmental, I oversaw our Department’s Policy team contributions reporting to my supervisor.
Contributed to the BC Federal Council’s executive strategy developments on intra/intergovernmental best practices during the pandemic and lessons learned by researching literature, news, and private sector reports. Within a team of four, we created a survey questionnaire and designed brainstorming sessions for the executive committee (highest level public servants from each federal department) to discuss federal public service strategies post-COVID.
Key achievement: Invited to join the Economic Strategic taskforce with two senior policy advisors, the Director of Policy, and the ADM to provide post COVID economic strategy proposals to the Acting Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister. I presented on the idea of reskilling and youth focused economic recovery by representing specific insights developed by the network of Canadian WEF Global Shapers’ Open Letter to the Government of Canada.

Fall 2019 - Fall 2020
Tracked across 20 governmental/inter-governmental open news sources and researched financial and economic regulations to compile information on Canada and the EU’s compliance with their 2019 Biarritz Summit commitments. This culminated in 4 analytical reports specifically for the Women Entrepreneurship Finance Initiative and Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa.
Key achievement: This work is published under the Munk School of Global Affairs G7 and G20 Research Group.

Worked with Statistics Canada data and Excel to conduct quantitative analysis on the Government’s employment equity initiatives. Through graphing trends on the Government’s four identified equity profiles (Indigenous, disabilities, minorities, and women) and providing qualitative research for our Department’s research report, my work supported further HR strategic development for recruitment and advancement in the Western Territories region.
Undertook research work for the Diversity Equity Employment Committee and the Harassment and Discrimination working group, where I performed a literature review of US and AUS policies on harassment and discrimination for a policy briefing to senior HR management and the Director of Strategic Policy, Relationships, and Corporate Affairs.
Key achievement: Chosen from 10 students to take on the role of Student Editor to produce the special It’s All About You(th) online edition for the public service’s largest newsletter (5000+ employees). By coordinating 6 editors/writers, communications and information management teams, this edition became the highest engagement newsletter with 120+ interactions: likes and comments.
